FROM THE DESK OF THE GOVERNOR:
Well, actually from the desk of the Jr. Past Governor! This is where I sign off from being your Governor for the past two years and I get to thank everyone who helped along the way. We could not have made it through without the continued help of our recent past Governors. Frank Strecker, Bob McComiskey, Jim Carlton, Danny O’Connell, John Galatis and Wes Clemons never turned down my requests for help or advice. My gratitude to you is never ending.

It was a pleasure to work with every one of my fellow Officers, many of whom are returning for another term. They’re the backbone of our Lodge. I know they’ll continue their good work with our new Governor, Paul Pedone.

Ron Marciello has proven himself indispensible as your Administrator. It is a thankless job but he continues to keep the wheels turning. Thank you Ron.

Many thanks go out to the Women of the Moose, especially Dottie Deveau & Denise O’Brien. Many of our events hinged on their participation. Thank you Ladies!

Of course we would not be here without you, the members of our Lodge & Chapter. Thank you for helping us support our primary goal, to strengthen Mooseheart & Moosehaven.

And lastly, special thanks to my wife & family for allowing me the time away from them as I attended meetings, conventions & fundraisers.

I look forward to working with Paul and the guys here at the Lodge as Jr. Past Governor and to my continued work at the State level.

Hello Ladies:

The last of our nominating meetings for new officers will be held during our Chapter meeting on May 4th and our election will be held during our Chapter meeting on May 18th. Installation of new officers will be held during our Chapter meeting on June 1st.

To those co-workers who have attended the WOTM meetings, I thank you for your support throughout this tumultuous year. Your continued support will be needed as we pick up the pieces and keep our Chapter moving forward.

RANDOM NEWS:
Everyone had a great time at the St. Paddy’s Day party. Joe Deveau, Paulie & Webbs worked hard in the kitchen & Sundays Well made everyone feel Irish for a day!

CONGRATS to Marcos Cescos & Brian Gonsalves for keeping the MA/RI State Pool trophy here in Revere! 14 teams battled during a great day at our Lodge. Danny Pizza & Webbs worked the kitchen while Paulie, Denise & Mary sold raffles and 50/50’s. Angel Neves won the gas grill raffle.

Many thanx to everyone who donated a pint at our joint Red Cross blood drive with the American Legion where Carolyn Cierrie & Webbs worked the door. Our next one will be June 6th.

I missed recognizing one individual in our last newsletter. I wish to thank Rico Demato for his generous donations over the years, particularly this past holiday season. 3 cheers!

Come and watch the ponies with us during our “Day at the Races” events. May 7th is the Kentucky Derby, May 21st is the Preakness and June 11th is the Belmont.

Derby Day means the return of our Saturday Grille! Join us for lunch each Saturday from 1 to 4 (sometimes longer!). Kids 12 and under –Free! Be sure to make use of the sign-up sheet for volunteer cooks.

This year, we will celebrate Mothers Day and Fathers Day together in one event. Join us for brunch on June 12th from 10 to 1.

Applications for the R. Robert Dale scholarship are available in the SQ. Juniors in high school whose parents, grandparents or guardians are eligible.
Deadline is June 30th.

Please remember that our function hall is available for rental to our members.

Everyone’s ideas matter and should be brought up. Come up to a meeting and propose a new activity, a new event, or even a new rule. This is YOUR Lodge and YOUR Chapter. What do YOU like to do? Come to a Members meeting
(Men’s meeting are the first and third Monday of the month and the Women’s meeting is the first
and third Wednesday of the month) and let us know.

WHAT'S HAPPENING:
The State Bowling Tourney will be at Leo’s Superbowl in Amesbury on May14th at 9:00 a.m. Five person teams are forming. Separate kids tourney. Call Mark, 617-968-1935 for details.

The State Horse Shoes Tourney will be held at the Dedham Lodge on June 11th. Check the Social Quarters or our website soon for details.

These events are open to ALL moose members no matter your skill level. Men & women both are welcome.



A MEMBERS THOUGHTS:
The time has come once again to put our shovels away for the season and bring out the gardening tools.  I understand that the cold is taking it's time to shove off, but hey we are all patient people, aren't we?  So I will start off by wishing everyone a grand 1st BBQ.  I can just smell all the food now.  So cut it, marinate it and cook it under the grand sky.   This has been quite a trying season.  Some great people have had some heartache and I can feel it with them.  After all we are all family here and when you hurt, your family hurts with you.  Guess what I heard years and years ago is true....We all start dying as soon as we are born.  We are all here only temporarily and I guess that's why we all try to leave a legacy when we are gone and make the most of our time here.  Boy would I love to hug the person who thought those things up.
 
YES YES another election came and went.  I would like to express congratulations to all that won and say thank you to all that ran.  This means that we are going to be looking for your thoughts and ideas on how we can make this place an even better one.  Times right now are tough and no end looks in sight, but we are a team that somehow always ends up winning.  That is something to be proud of...I know I am.  So what ever you have stored in that mind of yours, please bring it to life and see if we can make it work.

Playoffs...Playoffs...Playoffs... we are in the playoff season as well!!! The Red Sox are off to a tough start but I am confident they will pull it together (wow there is that teamwork thing again).  We are all wearing our colors for our favorite team and sport.  And hey, I can think of a great place to watch your team sail through the playoffs or into their new season.  Can you guess where I am talking about?
 
I am going keep this short and sweet and say that I am excited about this up coming year and hope I can make a difference here. I am open to new ideas and want to try to listen closely on the ones that have slipped through the cracks.  I also hope to see all the faces of my brothers and sisters down here both new and old.  Sometimes it is what I need just to get through a tough day....so in closing see you soon at the home away from home...these are just some of one members thoughts.

Hello Brothers, Co-Workers and Friends; We The MMOB' (Mass Moose On Bikes) are a group of Moose Members that enjoy riding Motorcycles, our motto is "Helping Moose Help People". We are always looking for new members and participation, you are welcome to attend our next scheduled meeting on Saturday April 30th at 11:00am at the Braintree Family Center (175 Howard St). Our 'Spring Fling Dinner Dance is scheduled for that same day, same location at 6 pm. Our first run of the season is the 'Shannon Meara Memorial Run' on June 4th.
